A transformative exploration into the power of your own breath.


Our breath is the most powerful tool that we have to regulate our energy, nervous system and overall health. Spend 8 days on our gorgeous Darocotan Island eco-retreat diving deep into the ancient practice of pranayama. Learn incredible tools to calm your nervous system and use your own physiology to optimize your health. 


During this profoundly experiential retreat, you will learn the wisdom of pranayama that yogis have studied and practiced for thousands of years, as well as the western physiological explanations for these powerful techniques. Beyond this exploration of the breath, enjoy a balanced, nourishing week of twice daily asana classes, meditation and of course plenty of free time to enjoy the beautiful island!


In this informative and transformative week retreat, you will learn the philosophy and science of pranayama to help you understand how you can utilise the breath to influence your physiology; improve your health; regulate your nervous system and perhaps even live longer - all in the context of a balanced week of movement, meditation and relaxation. 


Each day will have a specific focus, taking you on a well-rounded journey of deepening and slowing the breath, working with breath retention, manipulating physiological carbon dioxide levels, as well as subtle breath practices that aim to bring you into deeper meditation. At the end of the week, you will have developed your own daily breath practice as well as a toolbox to help you in your life back home in situations such as stress, difficulty sleeping, anxiety or low energy. 


Wake up in the morning to the sound of the ocean before wandering to the bamboo shala for your 90-minute morning practice, which will focus on pranayama for the first 30 minutes before moving into an energizing vinyasa practice. After practice, you’ll nourish yourself with a delicious breakfast before having free time to enjoy the island. In the evening we will have our second practice of the day, where we will utilize more grounding and down-regulating pranayama before sliding into a mellow flow or yin. Throughout the week there will also be opportunity for additional workshops or private classes for those wanting more individualized guidance.
